Mug celebrating the election of Sir William Meredith in the Liverpool election of 1761. Bearing the inscription, 'Success to Sir William's Plumpers 982.', the mug also celebrates the role played by the 982 voters who voted for Meredith alone, discarding the second vote they were allowed, in Meredith's victory.
