Punch Bowl with Three-part Cover

Delft punch bowl with three-part cover owned by Thomas Bootle, commemorating Bootle's unopposed return in the Liverpool by-election of April 1724. The inscription on the underside of the lower lid reads: 'THOMAS BOOTLE ESQUIRE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR LIVERPOOLE 1724'; the inside of the punch bowl features the arms and motto of Liverpool ('DEUS.NOBIS.HÆC.OTIA.FECIT').
