'Hooded' chairing chair probably associated with the Leicestershire election of 1741. The chair is believed to have been used to chair Sir Thomas Cave, 5th Baronet through the constituency; Cave was returned for Leicestershire after a contest in 1741, and again unopposed in 1762 and 1768.
