Porcelain tankard supporting the election of Godfrey Bagnall Clarke as an MP for Derbyshire in 1768. One side of the tankard is inscribed 'Distressed Family' and shows one family member (a child, on the right) saying 'I am almost Perished' and another (on the left) saying 'We will go to Mr. Clark's'; the other side of the tankard shows a view of Clarke's Derbyshire house and estate ('Sutton Hall') and is inscribed 'English Hospitality'.
