Bristol-made tankard celebrating the election of opposition Whig candidate, Edward Southwell, as an MP for Bristol at the by-election of December 1739. The salt-glazed stoneware tankard is decorated with a hunting scene and has the inscription ''Southwell for Ever. C.W.M. 1739'.
