Handbill and State of the Poll

Guildhall Library

A printed intervention in the poll for the London by-election of 1773. The text presents an appeal to the 'Free and Independent' London electors to give their 'Poll and Interest' to Frederick Bull, dated 2 December. This is combined with a state of the poll 'yesterday'; a notice of the times when polling will take place that day and a request for Bull supporters to 'poll as early as possible'; a warning of the consequences 'if Administration should be successful in this very important Contest'; and details of where and when Bull's 'Friends' should meet 'in order to proceed from thence in a Body to poll'.
