Jug

The Fitzwilliam Museum

Transfer-printed earthenware jug supporting Charles William Wentworth Fitzwilliam, Viscount Milton, in the Yorkshire election of 1807. The inscription reads: 'He that calls here / Shall have this full of Beer / That gave Milton / A Plumper'. The inscription encourages electors both to vote for Viscount Milton and not to give their second vote to another candidate ('plumping').
